The Ballinasloe Horse Fair is a horse fair which is held annually at Ballinasloe, in County Galway. the second largest town in County Galway. It is one of Europe’s oldest Horse Fairs, dating back to the 18th century. The fair is one of the most important social and economic events in the life of the town. “Ride West” documents the fair and how the community take part to the event.
About the Artist
Tiberio Ventura is an Italian photographer based in Dublin, Ireland. His work focuses on long term photographic projects which focus on social issues and fine art. After graduating from a BA in Photographic Media and Visual Communications in 2014, he received two Smedias award for Photographer of the year and Film Production of the year. His work has been exhibited in Ireland and Italy.
