Fragmentation is a developing series of new work based on the idea of pluralism and the complexity of present day society. The work technically, is produced using ongoing experiments with the halftone process, as in this case inverted and offset halftone printed using silkscreen and aerosol on primed linen.
About the Artist
Séan Hanrahan graduated with a degree in Fine Art Printmaking from the Limerick School of Art and Design Ireland, in 2005. He is a member of both the Backwater Artists group and Cork Printmakers.
He Lives and works in Cork City, Ireland. Current projects/exhibitions include Over the Sun, solo show Night Frightens the Day (Centre for Contemporary and Modern Art, Minsk), 2nd Global Print 2015 (Douro, Portugal). Recent projects include the TR5 International Residency with Cork Printmakers which was part of the 2013 Cork Mid Summers festival programme, Anthology of Artists (Bottega Del Tintoretto Venice), A Natural Selection (Graphic Studios Dublin), Galleri Astley Uttersberg (Sweden), FTLO NY (Bottleneck Gallery, New York), Di Carta/Paper made (Prima Biennale Internazionale DI Operes Carta, Italy), Ireland: Alphabet Series A (National Print Museum, Dublin and Irish Arts Centre New York). In 2009 he was Commissioned Artist for the 55th Cork International Choral Festival.
